Connecting Students with Superstar Latina Scientists

Equity requires  ensuring that our girls have access to quality education that allows them to follow their dreams. Through Seeds of Success, we have cultivated the scientific knowledge of over 600 girls, but our commitment extends beyond the participants in our program. Through our school visits and webinars, we are reaching every corner of Puerto Rico with the message that girls and women have a place in science! 

Siembra Semillas en Tu Escuela (Sowing Seeds in Your School) is an initiative in which we bring the excitement of science to schools in regions where we have had low participation of girls in the program. Until now, we have provided educational materials that highlight the stories of women scientists to 150 educators and more than 4,000 students. With your support, we can bring these women in STEM directly into the classroom to engage with students, conduct interactive activities, and deliver educational materials.

Juntas Podemos is a series of webinars where Latina scientists share their experiences, knowledge and academic trajectories. Through this series, we have connected more than 6,500 people with role models who demonstrate that success in STEM is possible for everyone. Your contribution will allow us to continue the Juntas Podemos speaker series and integrate accessibility features, especially sign language interpreters.
